Following consideration of the item at the meeting on 21 March 2017, the Sub-Committee considered legal advice on the process and additional information received from the CCG.
In considering this information, some Members of the Committee highlighted anticipated future service variations for Mental Health provision and questioned whether a referral of IVF services and ICSI Assisted Conception Services to the Secretary of State would detract from the Sub-Committee's ability to successfully refer those and other future variations to the Secretary of State if necessary. Having heard that all referrals are considered on their merits, the Sub-Committee requested that Mental Health funding be added to its work programme for 2017-18.
The Sub-Committee then put the item to the vote and RESOLVED that the decision of the CCG to vary the provision of IVF and ICSI Assisted Conception Services be referred to the Secretary of State as the proposed changes were not considered to be in the health interests of Croydon.
