Decision status: For Determination

Wards affected: (All Wards);

Notice of proposed decision first published: 10/01/2022

This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.

Reason for urgency:
Just before Christmas the government announced further support to assist businesses affected by the omicron strain of Covid-19. This form of support comes through an Omicron Business Grant payment of up to £6000 and further financial support provided by the Additional Restrictions Grant, where £644k can be used at the local authorities discretion to support businesses. Government have announced local authorities are to make payments to businesses as soon as possible and this was referenced in the guidance made public, and there is an expectation from businesses for this to happen. The application for this grant opened on 20th December 2021 (although LBC have not mobilised our application process as this is currently being worked on at present). payments are to be made as soon as possible after this date and all applications are to be received by 28th Feb 2022.
